This course is for people who are comfortable with drawing and/or painting, and who want to work on either an idea of their own, or an assignment, still-life, or based on visual material. The teacher will help you choose a personal approach, using techniques of your choice in water colour, acrylic- or oil paint or drawing. The teacher will encourage you to use, give shape to and further develop your imagination. For this course you must bring your own materials. Transparency, spontaneity and clarity, essential in water colour techniques, can be mastered only through patience and a thorough command of the necessary techniques and materials. On this course beginners will discover the surprising effects of water and paint. We will practise the mixing of colours, the different ways of handling a brush, and various techniques of applying paint to paper. Advanced students will be encouraged to develop their own 'signature'. More advanced techniques, like glazing, will also be discussed. During the first lesson you will be informed about the materials you must buy. More information regarding the teacher on www.robertvankeppel.nl
On this course the teacher will help you develop basic techniques in drawing through simple assignments. We will be using pencil, charcoal, (Siberian) crayon, ink and/or pastel. The materials will be provided during the lesson, but students may bring materials of their choice as well. Essential concepts, such as composition, perspective, mood, observation, light and shadow will be discussed. Advanced students will be stimulated to push through their own limits. In addition, the teacher will present examples from major artists throughout the centuries. More information regarding the teacher on www.robertvankeppel.nl
In this course you will develop the skill to draw a model or still life directly from what you see. Assignments will be given to prepare for a model or still life study, working step by step towards a complete drawing in pencil, charcoal, ink and pastel. Line, shape, proportion, light, shadow, volume and white spaces will be discussed and you may expect individual coaching. We will also look at how the human body and still lifes are portrayed in art history. We will study 'the modern master' and how their way of doing things and their vision may inspire us. Materials are included in the course. More information about the teacher on www.miriamhommes.nl
Experimenting with different techniques is key on this course. We will be working with pastel, ink, collage and watercolour; each technique being introduced by looking at the work of well-known artists. In so doing we will explore a path through art history. We will translate 3D onto a flat surface by practising still life, portrait and drawing models. Especially proportion, line, form, composition, ligth and shadow will be the main aim on this course, but there will also be exercises focusing on a more artistic way of looking at classical subjects, abstracting forms and experimenting with composition and colour. The materials are included in the price and individual coaching will be giving during the lessons. Information about the teacher can be found on http://lieselotelzinga.nl
