The English department offers a wide variety of courses, suitable for both Dutch and non-Dutch students, as practically all courses are taught in English only.
Walk-in consultation hour
Every Monday there is a walk-in consultation hour from 5.45-6.45 p.m., from October 1st 2018 onwards until May 2019, except during the school holidays; or otherwise by telephone via the office 020-5451424. An oral assessment is strongly recommended.

Een cursus voor wie één à twee jaar Engels heeft gehad en graag in vlot tempo zijn of haar weggezakte kennis wil ophalen. Je leert je te redden in de meest voorkomende situaties, gesproken Engels te verstaan en eenvoudige teksten te lezen en te schrijven. De lessen zijn bedoeld voor wie weer van voren af aan wil beginnen.
Deze cursus is voor wie het jaar ervoor de cursus Engels 1 heeft afgerond of voor wie elders twee à drie jaar Engels heeft gevolgd. Er wordt aandacht besteed aan grammatica, spreken en woordenschat; ook wordt er in de tweede helft van de cursus een Engels boek gelezen.
A practical course for people with no or hardly any knowledge of English. It is suitable for those who have never studied any English at all. There will be a lot of practice in speaking, listening and pronunciation. Books and a DVD for self-study are included in the course fee and will be provided by the teacher.
A course with lessons two times a week, suitable for people with some knowledge of English but with little confidence. We will start from the beginning, building up towards a Pre-Intermediate level in 10 weeks. The books are included in the course fee and will be provided by the teacher.
A good starting point for people with some school background in English, but little speaking experience. At the end of the course you will be able to use English for simple purposes such as ordering in restaurants, making travel arrangements and simple social functions. The books are included in the course fee and will be provided by the teacher.
